Matthew B. Learned is an Associate Attorney at Stark & D’Ambrosio, LLP where his practice focuses on business disputes and civil litigation. Matthew handles all aspects of a case including the initial assessment and case filing, motion practice and discovery, trial and post-trial motions and even appeals. Matthew takes a personal approach to the practice of law and prides himself on the relationships he builds with his clients.

Matthew currently serves on the Governance Committee for the Library Foundation SD, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the San Diego library system and advocating for its community members.

Matthew started his legal career working as in-house counsel for an independent record label where he spent much of his time negotiating various licensing agreements. From there, Matthew returned to San Diego where he worked for a firm that represented some of the nation’s largest mortgage servicers in title disputes, habitability cases, and other litigation matters. Prior to joining Stark & D’Ambrosio, Matthew was a partner at For Purpose Law Group, a firm that specialized in representing nonprofit organizations. While at FPLG, Matthew litigated board disputes and obtained a unanimous jury verdict involving a church’s misuse of charitable donations.

Matthew is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he majored in Marketing. He received his Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law his Master’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. Matthew is admitted to the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in California as well as the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

When Matt is not working with his clients, he enjoys cycling, learning guitar, hiking with his family, and playing soccer and video games with his boys.
