James A. D’Ambrosio is a partner at Stark & D’Ambrosio, LLP.  A persuasive and successful trial lawyer, James captures the respect of clients and jurors alike. James has handled more than thirty civil jury trials in the fields of business defense, insurance defense, personal injury, commercial litigation, medical malpractice and construction. He has handled over one hundred non-jury trials and arbitrations as well.  James has represented clients in numerous mediations and arbitrations and is regarded by his peers and colleagues as an accomplished litigator. His practice focuses on business and real estate litigation, catastrophic personal injury, complex civil litigation, and trial advocacy.

A graduate of Thomas Jefferson University, James pursued his undergraduate degree at George Mason University and his graduate degree at The American University.  James briefly worked in Virginia politics before moving to California to pursue law.  He taught middle school during his post-graduate studies. 

Prior to joining the firm in 2000, James worked at the San Diego County Office of the District Attorney, Child Support Enforcement Division; and then at Garrison & McInnis, LLP.  James represented clients in white collar and other criminal defense cases in state and federal court. 

James is licensed to practice in the State of California and has represented clients pro hac vice in Washington, Texas and Florida.  He serves as general counsel to several California businesses. James is a member of the State Bar and San Diego County Bar Association. 

In his spare time, you can find James mountain biking or jogging in various San Diego canyons with his family or studying music.
